"WAR" diary is the product of selective cutting and pasting of New York newspapers between March 20 and April 11, 2003. Headlines from the Daily News are collaged onto the stockpages of the New York Times creating subtle ghosts of words like OUTRAGE! BAGHDAD, and CAUGHT floating on top of or cut into endless columns of numbers. The pages are illustrated with cut-out images from the Times showing war protesters, New York Police security forces, Iraqis fleeing Baghdad, wounded soldiers and other scenes of war. All images are indexed in a special pull-out section.
