Ann Hamilton famously uttered "I don't draw." Nevertheless, in this work she found an alternate way to draw by running a wire brush against fragile silk organza to separate and warp its structure. Fabric often plays a central role in Hamilton's site-specific installations, which investigate such human themes as the body, shelter, and labor.
