Whitework baby (infant) bib of a squared-off oval shape, probably part of a christening set. The bib is composed completely of cotton. The center portion is lined and quilted in a diamond pattern, each diamond shape also decorated with a small (embroidered?) sprig. The outer edge is scalloped, formed by whitework embroidery in floral motifs and delicate oval medallions with lace insertions which alternate with eyelet cut work. The inner edge has narrow trim of small scallops. There are no closures. The bib appears to have been sewn and embroidered by hand.
