Comb-back Windsor form armchair, with shaped seat, "knuckle" arm terminations, and baluster-turned legs, stretchers, and front arm supports. Uniform dark stain.

The expense of manufacture entails much hand work as there are certain features which cannot be made as well by machinery. Each piece is individually carried through in the best style without reference to cost. There are Windsor bow-back side chairs, fan-back side chairs, and chairs with one, two, three and four backs, love seats (four leg short settees), six leggers, and ten leggers, both high and low and with combs or twin or triple bow-backs, babies' high or low chairs, child's chairs, stools, writing arm, that is poet's or schoolmasters' chairs, cradles, tables and every known variety of Windsors, comprising one hundred twenty in all. There are also beautiful exampls of...century styles, especially swivel top triangular...Brewster chairs, Carver chairs and heavy slat-backs. There are also sixteenth century style in trestle-boards, buffet chairs and joint stools. The department of wrought iron colonial...early English house hardware, in latches, hinges, candlesticks, sconces, fireplace...and everything in wrought iron is very complete.
