Three well-carved Immortals are evenly positioned around the cup. One has his hair drawn into a top knot and holds a peach in his left hand; at his side, there is a seated bird. Moving from him counter-clockwise, there is a shou (long life) character carved in low relief on the side of the cup. Next is an Immortal with a long beard. Finally, on the side opposite the shou character, the third Immortal has his hair drawn into a top knot and also has a beard. He holds a flywhisk and is accompanied by a seated deer.
The wood stand is exceptionally well carved. Around the sides are carved a buck and a doe on the front, then a pair of monkeys and a pair of long-tailed birds. The "Three Friends of Winter" - pine, plum and bamboo - are carved into the top surface.
