On this vessel, an archer on horseback takes aim at a tiger. Hunting was a popular sport during the Western Han period, and a large im- perial hunting park was maintained in the vicinity of Changan, the Western Han capital. Texts from the time describe a wall more than eight miles in circumference surrounding the park.
