One of a group of proofs, printed on Japan paper, by Baude in the Lucas Collection. These wood engravings were first published as illustrations in Harper's New Monthly Magazine and later appeared in published volumes by Theodore Child. This one first appeared in "Editor's Drawer," Harper's New Monthly Magazine, Vol. 79, Issue 471, August 1889, p. 488.
