Self-Guided Tours

Groups are always welcome to lead their own tours at the BMA.

Please review our Self‑Guided Tour Policies and register your group in advance to help ensure the best possible experience during your visit.

Groups may be asked to end their visit early if these directions are not followed.

Self-Guided Tour FAQs

Students 18 and under must be supervised by a chaperone.

We require one chaperone for every 10 students.

Backpacks, bulky coats, and umbrellas are not permitted in the galleries. There are a limited number of bins available from the Welcome Desk for coats and bags if needed.

Food and drink are not permitted in the Museum.

Do not touch artwork or lean on cases containing artwork.

Please walk through the galleries! Running is not permitted.

Only pencils are allowed in the galleries. Pens and other writing implements are not permitted.

Non-flash photography is allowed in the galleries and sculpture gardens for personal, non-commercial use, except where noted.

Conversation is encouraged, but please be mindful of your volume.

Security officers are here to help. Please listen to any instructions given by security guards in the Museum.
