Covered Soup Tureen from the Commodore Stephen Decatur Maritime Service--A ship at full sail at sea decorating each side of the bowl, and on opposite sides of the lid; a wide border of scallop shells and sea grasses around the rim of the bowl and the rim of the lid; two paired and entwined strap handles on the bowl; and a large flower-form finial on the lid; the fine porcelain body decorated with overglaze sepia enamels and gold.
