A rooster and hen are depicted in ink, with their plumage in red. The painting is dedicated to the donor's father, "To Mr. Yiwu for his appreciation. Mid-Autumn 1936. Beihong painted this in Guilin where I just moved to the province." [translated by Jason Kuo, June 2015]
