The bolt of fabric is taupe Chinese silk gauze with double dragon and flaming pearl roundels. The roundels measure 8-1/2' in diameter and are arranged alternating two across and three across (only halves of the outside roundels fit on three across). The last 20' of fabric before the woven inscriptions on each end are plain with six small roundels (motif indecipherable). All edges are selvages, sides and ends.
The Baltimore Museum of Art by gift, 2000; Mr. and Mrs. Laurance Roberts, Baltimore
Inscribed: Both top and bottom selvages are woven with Chinese characters, possibly manufacturer information.
