Whimsical and engaging, Nils Moorman’s unapologetically modernist take on earlier reading chairs was first presented at the International Furniture Fair in Milan. Bookinist offers a built-in electric lamp rather than a brass candlestick. It also comes with felt upholstery, a drink holder, and even a pencil sharpener in a hidden compartment. The designer comments, “Bookinist is a moveable chair designed especially for reading. It is based on the principle of a pushcart and can be rolled to a favorite spot… Bookinist invites to you to read and think at your leisure.” The chair rests on a plump pneumatic tire with raised letters reading “Not for Highway Use.”
