The deceptively soft and slightly lustrous gray threads composing Burner Dye (Karadaki) are actually ultra fine stainless steel yarns developed by a Japanese manufacturer to reinforce radial tires. In a radical move, NUNO designers added surface patterns by using gas burners to create stripes of metallic iridescence.
