Coffeepot made by Christopher Hughes, c. 1775. Silver, wood. The inverted pear shape of this coffeepot is set on a splayed foot. It has a cast spout with a molded shell at the base and a cast shell beneath the upper socket for the wooden handle. The domed cover has a grooved finial. The monogram "CHP" stands for the maker, Chrstopher Hughes and his wife "Peggy."
