These three pieces from an extensive Chinese export dinner service are emblazoned with a pseudo-armorial shield bearing the gilded initials “JAD” for John and Ann Donnell of Baltimore. The shield is further embellished with famille rose flowers. All the pieces were made at the Jingdezhen kilns, using hard-paste porcelain, with overglaze enamel and gilt decoration.
