Small doll quilt with cut out at bottom for four poster bed. Quilt is composed of 150 squares, each 1-1/2" square. Top portion includes 9 rows of 14 blocks; bottom portion 4 rows of 6 blocks. Fabrics include plaids, checks, prints with dark grounds (brown or black) with bright florals, extremely small repeating motifs on white grounds, some orange checks (possibly chrome orange), some possible drab prints, some prints with Turkey red(?), etc. All prints appear to be prior to 1860. Also included are several woven pieces with diaper-like pattern. All piecing is by hand. Lined in a printed cotton that also appears on the quilt top. Hand bound on all edges with a narrow binding of multiple pieces of printed cotton showing approximately 1/8" on both sides. Some diagonal "quilting" stitches cross the tops and bottom with wide spaces between. No batting is present; therefore, quilt stitches are really just holding the top and bottom together.
