A square tapestry-woven shawl (rumal) with small black center with large white embroidered inscription and woven floral and paisley designs around edges of center. The field is almost entirely covered by elongated multi-colored "paisleys" and black and white arabesque forms which were woven separately and pieced together following the outlines of individual sections. The shawl has an inner border of woven arabesque patterns. The outer border is composed of pieced sections of colored wool embroidered in running floral and arabesque designs. Colors of woven sections include multiple shades of blue, green, red, purple and yellow. The color used may indicate the use of synthetic dyes.
