Presumably from perm AAAPI installation 1984-2012: "Lime spatulas, when wetted and dipped in lime, are used to convey the lime from the container to the mouth. Spatulas can be carved simply, from a single piece of wood or bone, or they can be ornamented with pigments, shells, and fibers. In the Sepik River area lime containers and spatulas can be scraped together as muscial accompaniment to ritual."
