Rectangular band sampler with alphabets, numbers, signature, central flower basket and verse. Sampler is worked in greens, bright yellow, rose, blue, black, beiges, and brown, silk embroidery threads on a beige linen ground. Silk embroidery threads are faded. See inscriptions for verse.

Inscribed: Six bands of alphabets and alphabet/number combinations Verse embroidered in black silk threads in cross-stitch: "Love the Lord/And he will be/A tender father/Unto thee" and on opposite side of sampler in same: "I Will bless God/And him a'dore/From this time/And for evermore"
