Sharp observational drawings by one-time MICA student Aaron Sopher offer a vivid picture of Baltimore’s urban life and art scene in the early 20th century. Sopher applied his keen eye through sketches such as his rendering of Henri Matisse’s Reclining Nude I (Aurore)—on view in the nearby Cone Wing—and his illustration of the ninth annual Maryland Show, a yearly juried exhibition at the BMA featuring work by Maryland based artists.
