Two cranes and two knarly pines on one side; on the other side, a pavilion set within a grotto, cresting waves at the left side, a peach tree at the right with Shou Lao and an attendant hovering on a cloud overhead.
The stand is carved with bamboo, pine and a plum blossom, the "Three Friends of Winter."
The deep notch carved into the top edge above the peach tree may indicate that this was intended as a brush rest.
