Silver pitcher made by Samuel Kirk, c. 1840. Chased, engraved, cast. This pitcher has a pear shape with scalloped panels with acanthus leaf decoration, a cast rectangular handle, a plain, splayed foot, and a large curved spout. The handle has applied cast leaves and scrolls and the body has chased scrolls surround each of the six panels. Engraved scrolling vines, running vertically through each panel, trail delicately from the top scrolls.
