An overshot coverlet composed of three loom widths, each approximately 28" wide, that are butted together and sewn by hand up the center. The ground fabric is composed of primary warps and wefts of cotton or linen. The patterning is a variation of that commonly known as "Queens Patch" created by supplementary wefts of blue wool. The obverse features large blocks composed of sixteen small blue blocks with white edges and bue corner blocks. These larger blocks are divided by vertical bands of narrow blue and white strips. The reverse side is identical except that the colors are reversed. The top and bottom edges of the coverlet are hemmed with ¼" turned under and hand stitched. The sides are selvage edges.
