Rectangular wall hanging composed of tree designs with soft, feathery looking branches in shades of blue, green, brown and coppery-gold created through the processes of devoré and painting. The photographic image of a tree-scape was silk screened onto a fabric composed of silk and cotton using a heat-reactive base. A mild acid was used to destroy all put the silk fibers. Pigments and metal patina were added to create dimension and colors. The resulting fabric is stiff, but capable of being rolled. Some areas are devoid of weft or warp, while others are built up into solid three-D images. The image appears to float in air. The bottom edge of the hanging is basically straight; the side and top edges follow the lines of the tree branches. All edges remain unfinished and form part of the overal design. The hanging is equipped with cork and metal hanging devices placed on the reverse along sections of the upper and side edges.
