SPIT. Gabriel Orozco asks viewers to question the nature of drawing: in this case, can toothpaste mixed with saliva be used to create a work of art? Orozco works without a studio and chooses to let whatever items he finds nearby guide him and become his materials for artmaking. He is constantly attuned to his surroundings and the potential in ordinary objects; everything is possible in his creative process. Orozco splits his time between his native Mexico, Paris, and New York.
