Powerfully curved arms resting on gilt spheres endow this Baltimore chair with an aggressive sculptural presence. Exuberant, large-scale gilded Grecian acanthus leaves emphasize the shapes of the crest rail and back splat. Probably part of a suite, the chair is further enriched with grained paint that simulates rosewood.
