Florence Winslow and her husband collected nearly all of their baskets between 1923 and 1931 while living in Hayden, Arizona. While the collection notes do not identify the name of the woman who made this basket, they state that her parents were Pima ('O'odham) and Papago (Tohono 'O'odham), and the basket is described: "Ostrich design, Indians made designs from things they saw...around them at one time there was an ostrich farm near the reservation."
