Guanyin sits on a triangular double-lotus base with feet crossed, the soles facing upward and right hand held in the gesture of teaching. The bodhisattva wears an ornate crown surmounted by the Amida Buddha, a long-tailed bird is perched on the left shoulder and a covered vase on the right.
The lacquer coating and gilt decoration on the front surface is worn and deteriorated, but the reddish-brown lacquer coating remains more intact on the back.
