The length of jacquard-woven silk consists of a background divided into squares approx. 2 inches square; at the intersection of the squares are medallions with floral, dragon, wan, and phoenix motifs. Colors used are dark and light blue, purple, green brown, and pink. Both selvages are present; top and bottom edges are cut. One end (pattern makes fabric orientation impossible to determine) appears to be the end or beginning of bolt, since it has no pattern woven. This end also has a glued paper tag with a Chinese character stamp in red ink and hand-written characters in black ink.
