These candlesticks bear the arms of the Galloway family of Tulip Hill in Anne Arnundel County, Maryland. They first belonged to Samuel Galloway III (1720-1785).
Originally owned by Samuel Galloway of 'Tulip Hill'.
Inscribed: Engraved arms: Galloway, for Samuel Galloway of 'Tulip Hill,' Anne Arundel County.
Markings: On base stamped: "WC" (?), lion, lion head with crown, "B"
