A strip of natural linen in plain weave ornamented with eight polychrome (red, dark pink, and light pink) tapestry woven heart-shaped rose blossom patterns interspersed with three stylized, tapestry woven bud motifs in varying combinations of red, pink, blue, green, and yellow "inlaid" into the linen ground. The single bud motifs are oriented in the opposite direction as the rose petals, which are paired. This band is probably a section cut from the interior of a tunic band or clavus that would originally have had narrow stripes on either side.
The strip has cut and unfinished edges on all four sides, but is especially uneven along the proper right edge.
Fiber: linen and wool. Yarns: S twist singles. Weave Structure: Plain weave with tapestry designs.
